a poem; repairs
the sky outside my window
drips from our old leaky faucet
I’ve been meaning to fix it
these hands forgot how
and the clouds engulf sleeping dishes
smothering their dreams to be clean,
to be… new…
again… apologies, where were we?
there was a storm coming, that’s right…
you knew when;
lightning strikes twice around teeth
strangled in puddles kissing my feet
my socks are drenched
the glass starts to rattle in window frames
the teapots hiss pierces our ears
while your mug drowns
around floating bodies… in a lake…
did I drink my morning coffee? am I awake?
you used to stand in the doorframe,
the one crumbling now,
defenceless to the disaster
of our old faucets rain sounds
